MY VISIT TO S.W. CHINA REGION

My visit to S.W. China is quite interesting. Travelling with no fix itinerary and no specific return date is something I really cherish. After all, how often can I do that. I tried my utmost best to immerse into the local culture and to get to know the local people better and I realize that the characteristics of people from different province differs greatly. In general, I like the gentle and soft-spoken folks from Chong Qing. I'm quite happy to meet so many nice people on the way even though it is only "touch and go"

I particularly like the young lady I met from Chong Qing. She is also a lone traveller and when I tell her I might want to go to Chong Qing, she said there's nothing much to see at this time of the year but if I really want to go she can arrange for her friends to pick me up, if I want to. Of course, I won't dream of troubling her to that extend. Whatever it is, it's her thoughtfulness, gentle mannerism and helpful nature that touches me. I met another 2 kind and gentle-minded ladies from Chong Qing and I wonder what it is that makes them so different from others.

The people from Sichuan (at least those I met) are quite loud and it's better not to step on their toes or they take the hell out of you. At least 2 unpleasant incidents that results in an ugly scene (once with the tour guide, another with the waitress) involved the people from that region. I watched and wonder if the heated argument might turn into a big fight. A bit intimadating, to say the least. There's no right or wrong but they will fight tooth and nail for their rights without fear of losing face. "Paiseh" lah! Not meant to generalise them but this is what I observed and my personal opinion only lah!
